X9000 Manual Question

Post by SlimBob »

What's the difference between these numbers:

68P80101W10-B
68P80101W10-O

I have the -O, but not the -B.

The suffix indicates revision level. 'O' is original, the first release. 'A' is the first revised release as features are added to the product, etc.

Some say that Motorola uses the following convention for equipment and manual revision notation:

O = Original [Oh-Oh]
A = Almost works right
B = Better, still some serious issues
C = Close
D = Done, time to Discontinue and release a new product

Sometimes selected information is dropped in later manual revisions.

xmo,

I like your interpretation of that convention.

SlimBob,

Did you get your 64 mode head working?

Not yet. I'm working on getting a good codeplug in the radio first. I had to pull it and drop in a Maxtrac. I'm sorely tempted to never go back.
