GP380 Questions

Post by NSPD »

I had to program a GP380 from scratch and i'm running into some odd problems that I don't know how to fix.

1) I can get the radio into scan mode, and it scans, but any activity comes in half-second bursts while the radio reverts back to the selected channel. Priority is not enabled...

2) There are no user-programmable scan lists?

3) What Squelch setting do I need to use for a personality containing channels wusing PL/DPL and also CSQ? IT keeps warning me that i've used the wrong setting.

4) Can anyone point me to a Select-5 programming primer if such a thing exists?

Thanks!

To help answer;

2) No, only through CPS.

I can help you with your other questions, just not right now. Can you email me your codeplug, I'll take a look at the PL/DPL thing and the scan drop out thing. [email protected]

Well, I can now answer the majority of my own questions... In case anyone else runs into this, here are the answers.

1) The radio was reverting back to the selected channel in scan because I had the "sweep" feature enabled and set to "1". I reset it to "0" and the problem went away.

3) Assigning any CSQ channels to a specific personality set to "Carrier Squelch Only" and any channels with PL or DPL to "PL/DPL Squelch" and not mixing the two types in a personality makes the warnings go away.

I also found that if I disabled the "Scan Start Alert" I could get rid of the annoying beeps every time activity was found on any channel being scanned.

Thanks for the help everyone!
