spectra repeter ????
i have x2 spectra vhf radios i want to turn them in to a ham repeter able to pass a digital signal i am new to the ham world i got my ticket today no call sign yett i am able to tue program ya da yada just need to know how to make the 2 talk do i use a rick box or just a direct cable connection

Welcome to the board.... there is tons of information available using the boards search feature. Over the years I would have to say that most topics have been covered in one fashion or another.

You can make a repeater module to make the Spectras work together, but you won't be able to make them pass digital without a lot of work.
Best bet if you want digital is to get two Maxtracs and modify them as per the instructions on this board.
VHF ham is a pain too as the duplexer can get VERY expensive.

Thats' very ambitious.
Have you considered googling and see if there is a P25 or Astro group in your area already? Its' always easier to reach the top shelf standing on the shoulders of giants.... (in other words, let somebody else spend the money and make the mistakes!)
