DOS muting not unmuting???

Post by nmfire10 »

Here's a wierd one for you. I have seen this in a two different CDM1250's. After a Post-ID trips the DOS muting, the radio never unmutes. It will just sit there with the carrier light flashing away while it keeps all the audio muted. After the carrier drops and scan resumes, it will go back to normal.

Any ideas?

1. I assume that if you disable DOS, the radio works OK?

2. Check the "coast time" (name of the feature may vary), which is sort of a muted "hang time" after the DOS detect drops; value should be on the order of not more than 250 msec.

3. If both of foregoing are OK, I have no idea.

I forgot. This is intermittent. It doesn't always do it. Not sure what the firmware is.

Check firmware. If it's older, you need to get it flashed up. Older Waris firmware had all sorts of little, odd problems... you want to eliminate that as an issue before you go any further.
