I saw a pair of DTR410's on eBay being sold as "mini xts 3000"s, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any info on this radio. I did a search with no results. It's not my auction so I'm not going to post the url... On the screen it says "DEMO NOT FOR RESALE" but this isn't enough to stop the seller I guess, in his words:
"They say "demo, not for re-sale, but that's nonsense. I paid for them, and I'm going to sell them."
I've never heard of these radios, and they sound like demos, but I just want to make sure my hunch is correct.
On a side note, if these are demos and shouldn't be resold, am I correct in assuming a complaint should be filed with eBay?
DTR410?

You probably didn't look to hard.
It's just another model in the DTR series. The DTR410s are a very basic version. They are listed in the portable radios section on Motorola's web site, and the series has been discussed here at some length.
Obviously Motorola finally wised up to the fact that everyone was ordering the cheap demo kits with two radios, cable, and software, and parting them out for a tidy profit.
As has been pointed out before, we discourage discussion of idiots on eBay, since there are enough to send this board's server to an early meltdown.
If you feel some need to act as the eBay police, enjoy. Personally, I can't say that I would worry much about it.

I'll come out and say it.
Louie PL: Be a man and don't screw with MY auctions. Maybe I'll call your boss and start messing with your income. I didn't realize some of you seem to lack a sense of humor/good judgement. Please read the board as humhead said before you blindly step in and talk about policing ebay.
I put that message in there for just this reason. I knew someone was going to play vigilante / Moto Cop. Please don't- that would be what we call a "b%&* made move" - at least where I come from.
HumHead: Thank you for clarifying, but surely you weren't calling me an idiot.

I was speaking purely in the generic sense. I didn't even really look at the auction or even notice the seller.
No offense intended to any individual, plenty intended for the collective generic eBay masses.

So you intentionally misrepresent your auctions and resell items specifically indicated as not for resale?
I don't understand how you get your knickers in a wad when you get called out on it, especially given this community's penchant for spotting obvious inaccuracies (or in your case, blatant lies)
How about you be a man and accurately represent the items you're selling instead of playing games.
Ps. I have a DSP chip that is not cleaning up my analog audio, can you fix it for me???????
