CDM1250 Reading Problem

Post by WFD_ENG3INE »

I am trying to read a CDM1250 with a ribless cable (which I have had nothing but success with up until now) but it will not read. Just comes up with the error like it isn't connected to a radio. The radio is CDM1250 that had a remote head kit installed. Other than that the radio functions perfectly. I have had no problems reading other CDM1250's, however this was the first I tried that had the Remote Head Kit installed. Could it have something to do with that? Anyway I'm stumped...

Convert it back to a one piece, CDMs don't like being read/programmed through the remote kit, you could even damage it. Always do any programming with them as a one piece.

motorola put out a release note a while back that tells you to put the head back on the radio and not to use the remote kit to do any type of programming from the mic connector. if you are programming it from the rear 20 pin the remote kit won't make a difference.

On the ones I have in service, I read direct from the transceiver. Unplug the remote cable and plug in programming cable.

just go to the cdm page and look at the diagram, it's real easy to make.
