EEPRM CS ERROR on CDM 1550

Post by RVC Truckie »

I have a CDM 1550 that is giving me a EEPRM CS ERROR and won't let me read or program the codeplug. I did a search and it seems some people have had luck by trying to load a fresh codeplug into the radio. This is a radio from my office and I never programmed it before so I have no codeplugs. If anyone can email me a good code plug it would be appreciated. Here are the stats:
CDM 1550
Model # AAM25SKF9AA5AN

When I try and read the codeplug I get the following error message:
Image is corrupted. checksum for R/W region failed

I don't know if I have a brick or if it can go back to M for repair.

when did the radio start giving you the message? did it just happen one day when it was turned on or did it happen while you were programming it or what? it can definately be fixed. you can even try updating the firmware and see if that brings it back?

Jeff .. it occurred while programming the radio, someone walked by and knocked the power supply plug from the wall shutting off the radio. Sorry for not putting that info in the original post ..

the codeplug you have from when you read the radio is probablly still good, it was in the computer when the radio got shut off. i'd keep trying to write it to the radio, it may take 1 try or it may take 50 but you can probablly get it back.

I've also noticed that the CPS software in the earlier revisions was a little balky when it came to CS errors...i had several that would barf all the time at a CS error in v4.0, but an upgrade to the v6 CPS would bring it back to life....ALL OF THEM.

great, almost every time you get a cs error you can fix it yourself, just start worrying when you get a eeprom hw error.
