Is it in general radio settings, channel settings, wherezitat?

What are you trying to say by the term "REPEATER TIME SLOT"?

Been in this field for better than 40 years and have never heard
anyone ask that question. You might want to try providing on
just what model radio your playing with. Then on what kind
of system this radio is going to work with.

You might have someone provide an answer if we knew just
what the question should be.

Are you programming a radio or repeater? There are no time slot settings in the repeater.

In the radio programming you will find the time slot setting in the channel information.

Top of the screen, select view. Go down and check expert. Now you will find the repeater slot in the channel info.

In the post topic, he said "Mototrbo programming newbie question." Therefore, it's logical to assume that he's programming a MOTOTRBO radio.

MOTOTRBO is a 2-slot TDMA system. When programming subscriber units, you must tell the radio which slot you'd like to use. Apparently, Moto buried this choice... thus the OP's question.

That's what it was... I had the RSS/View set to dumbass instead of expert.

That's the slot on the front of the repeater that you insert the punchcard with the current time into. You have to be really fast to keep the current time though - 1 card per second - that's 86400 cards per day. Personally I recommend a crack team of monkeys, especially if you don't want to have to sit in front of the repeater every day.

What is with the whole basic vs expert view anyways, same as the Commercial Series CPS. It is like clicking to agree to the licence agreement when installing new software. You wouldn't have put the disk in or downloaded it if you didn't want it. Why wouldn't one want the expert view with all the possible features shown?

It's a new product, and a new software installation. I just overlooked (apparently often) the expert selection down below a tab on the software.
I assume 40 years as an MSS qualifies me as an expert... but I could be wrong.

If someone can't handle seeing all sorts of options they have no idea about while programming a radio, they sure as hell should not be programming radios.
