DB-29 Connectors

Post by escomm »

Anyone got a source for these? It looks like 29 high density pins crammed into a DB15 housing. I have called Mouser, Digikey, Graybar (lol), Talley, and checked with three local electronics supply shops. All of them look at me like I'm stupid when I ask about them, saying they don't exist.

As you can see, the pin arrangement is 10 over 9 over 10, and I'd swear the housing is the same size as a DB15 housing but maybe my memory is a little off and its a DB25 housing instead.

Anyways, I think perhaps Amphenol Aerospace supplies them, but they are not open until tomorrow AM. Using their part number builder the closest I can get is a 31-pin setup. The only other reliable lead I've found is from Sony, but they want about $100 per connector, and at that price (and without a picture) I'm not entirely convinced it's the right one.

FWIW, the application is the interface cable between an HD camera and the camera controls.

Any leads or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like a Cannon 2DA31 type connector, minus the two outer pins on the middle row.

FYI: the D-sub connectors use 5 different shell sizes, A thru E. with the standard #22 pins, A=15, D=25, C=37, D=50, and E=9.

The 2D series is double density.
