Astro Saber Programming Problems

Post by W6WAW »

I am having problems adding conventional personalities (i.e. channels) to an Astro Saber III I just received.

It had one frequency programmed when I received it. I can change anything in this personality, including frequency, pl, astro/non-astro, etc.

I can also add personalities to the codeplug using CPS.

When I write the codeplug to the radio, the changes I made to the first channel / personality are made (and work) but the other channels/personalities still come up as "unprogrammed" when I move the channel switch.

Is there a problem with the radio or am I missing something?

(I have searched Batboard but haven't found anything on point.)

Thanks.

Disregard My Question

Just discovered that I'd failed to assign the channels to a zone.

Sorry for use of the bandwidth, but I'm still learning about this radio.

Ahh, Yes. That was my first encounter with a newly purchased astro saber. Like 9 years ago, and I pulled my hair out trying to figure that out!

Good luck and post if u have any more questions.
