How to create a new codeplug?

Post by jets1961 »

Hi,

I am trying to program an Astro/R using AstroP RSS R08.50.00. I need to create a totally new codeplug as it such a cumbersome operation to edit the current code plug.

I just want to start from scratch, is this possible or do you have to edit a current codeplug? If so are there short cuts to delete the current system settings. One thing I am wondering is if the system key is being read, maybe I am misunderstanding the syntax.

Here is how I have pointed the program to read the syskey: C:\MRSS\SABER\SYSKEY\SYSxxxxx.KEY. <drive> <dir> <dir> <dir> <filename>
Is this correct?

Thanks, Joe

you shoyuld be able to delete the zones exept one, same with the personalities and same with the system.
you wont have much left o delet individually.
to check on the key go to the system screen and see if you can change the key. if not you havent got it right yet

Most RSS does not allow you to create a blank codeplug from scratch.

You can create a "factory fresh" codeplug in anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on how much crap is loaded into the current codeplug.

Simply create a new default trunking system (sys ID 0001). Create a new trunking personality & point it to the new default system. Create a new zone/channel assignment & point in to the new trunked personality. If there are scan lists, set every trunked & conventional personality to reference "none" for the scan list. Create a new default scan list. Delete all other scan lists. Then in order, delete all other zones, then trunked personalities, then trunked systems. After that's done, you can create a new default conventional personality & delete all others. This will effectively create a "blank" codeplug, although you can also set all buttons, switches & display menu options back to 'default' options as well.
