Hi All.. We are trying to interface an MTR2000 to a DC remote control adapter panel. This is something Motorola does not sell with the MTR. It looks like they took a serious look at it when the MTR went into production as there are lots of references to DC remote control etc. in the manuals. A call to Tech support confirmed this. DC control is not offered. Tone remote control is built right in, all nice and covienient like.
What we are running into is that when Rear Accessory control PTT is used with Rear Accy. Tx audio, PL is stripped off of the carrier. We don't really want to install a piggyback PL encoder for this. Has any one experienced this or have a workaround suggestion???
Thanks a bunch.

MTR2000 Strips PL when Accessory PTT used...

I believe that's the way its supposed to work. I will pull up a codeplug tonight, but I think you will have to do some wildcard programming to get the Tx PL to encode when keyed via ext PTT. You may even have to use the MRTI PTT in the DB25 connector and then program the wildcard functions from there. I will check more into this tonight.

In the RSS, under Personality-->Channel Information-->PTT, set the mapping for External PTT to "wireline", and feed your TX audio into the wireline input, instead of the AUX TX pin. You will then get your PL. This is assuming you have a wireline card installed.

Hey thanks fellas. The MRTI solution worked for us. The MTR2000 has been a little cumbersome to work with, but in fairness has always worked out in the end after some chin scratching. A very reliable unit. FYI we did have a VHF unit ship with a receiver that went intermittent within hours of installation. Station would indicate as receiving but no audio of any kind our the back door. Not even discriminator audio. Something to watch for.
As always thanks for the quick and relevant advice..
