Does anyone know if a HMN1037B DTMF mike is compatable with a GTX mobile radio. I can get it to key just fine, but the radio produces a squeal rather than a true DTMF tone. Can I adapt this if needed?
My e-mail address (preferred) is: [email protected]. Thanks, Denise N5VAQ

Re: HMN1037B Mike...
I would think the GTX should take it.
The only DTMF mic that will not work on anything other than the Waris Mobiles (Mebey MCS?) is the Waris DTMF mic, because rather than sending a DTMF tone, the Waris mic generates a command to the radio to generate the DTMF. [So in a sense, not a true DTMF mic]
But the 1037B generates them inside the actual mic. I think that mic may make a side tone when you press the buttons; I know my spectra one does. Have you monitored over the air to see what it is actual transmitting? Or are you talking about the mic side-tone.

Do a forum search for that mic, I think there are some posts about disabling the sidetone.
