CDM1250 LOCKED

Post by jbrian »

I have a CDM1250 low band 29-36MHz. It was installed in my vehicle and worked fine for the past 18 months or so. I noticed today that I was not receiving anything and went to change the channel and found that none of the soft keys would work nor would the power button. The screen still showed the last channel that I had used. I forced a power cycle by pulling the 12v power supply from the radio, and reinstalling it. After several attempts with the ON/OFF button the radio powered up and for about 30 seconds worked fine. The radio "locked" up again so I repeated the power cycle. At this point I am not able to get the radio to even power on. Any suggestions. This radio is in a remote head configuration. The software ver. is R05.00.00 Model AAM25BKD9AA2AN. Also second part, can I upgrade the firmware to include options suck as squelch adjustment from the menu, from what I understand it is a feature enable dependant on firmware ver.

can you feel if the radio is running hotter than usual? are you able to plug it in and read it? you should be able to adjust the squelch with that firmware flash but it's not like a 1-10 adjustment, it's either standard or tight so you're probablly best leafing it on standard. did you buy it new, is it still under warranty?

I have the radio set up here in the house off a power supply and it does not appear to be running hot. The case is warm to touch and it has been idling for sometime.
