MT2000 issues

Post by radio_rob_nj »

So I was going through my box of Jedi parts and found that I have enough parts to build a few radios. I got two working, and have a couple of questions about them and the remaining stuff:

1) I got a VHF working with a front display and menu/number keys. Problem is, the menu is in spanish (MUTO instead of MUTE, SPEN instead of DIR, etc). Any ideas?

2) I have a UHF that I had to put a top display because despite my best efforts, I could not convert it to front display. I've done it before, and I even tried following the directions on the batlabs site. Are there some controllers that can't be changed to front display?

3) I have 1 controller which is toolproofed and I have no idea where it came from (I think that one is screwed)

4) I have 2 controllers when read show 64 blocks but after reading, the RSS displays a block error then a checksum error. When writing, it gets to block 2 and then bombs (some kind of communication error). When you turn on the radio, you can hear a faint click but nothing else happens. If you press the bottom button 5 times (test mode) the top LED blinks green constantly. These two controllers baffle me the most.

Thanks for any and all help.

OK, I found that the Lab software doesn't give you an option for Native Language (that's all I had been using up until now) **BUT** the newer software does. Now I can read what the options are. Still have the other 3 problems, though...
