Kawamall RIB battery polarity?

Post by foobar149 »

This really is a dumb question, but I'm stuck here without a multimeter for the moment...and don't want to blow up my newly arrived RIB.

Which way does the 9V battery go into the cased Kawamall/Kawa rib? The battery cover has polarity marked, but I can't tell the proper cover orientation...so that's useless :o. If I get desperate enough I'll just pop the cover and take a look...but I'm "stranded" with neither tools nor a multimeter at the moment :x.

Ditto with the one I have - positive facing the power button.

Thanks alot. I ended up realizing it had reverse polarity protection, and flipped the battery till it worked. I've been dealing with so much sloppy equipment lacking protection diodes lately that I've become paranoid. :o

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, so I did take off
the case just to be 100% sure and the polarity was clearly
marked on the board itself, so I put a +/- marked piece of
P-touch tape on the case.
