Saber Si 800Mhz Won't Power up
I put a car adaptor battery on the radio and it never turned on. The tried a battery and will not come on. I have had MTS series with blown fuses but do not know where to look on this radio. Can someone help me or I will pay for shipping both ways and hopefully a flat rate if someone can do it. If not please point me in the proper place on one of the boards. I thanks you so much for your time. Shawn
Re: Saber Si 800Mhz Won't Power up
Generally on SABER series radios, the fuse will be located towards the bottom of the board. Obtaining a service manual for the radio would be the ideal way to go, albeit it's probably long-NLA for this obscure series radio.
The fuse would be a small, green resistor shape component, or a white tubular component with silver ends where it is soldered to the board. Look around the lower edges of the radio.
Good luck.

The fuses for the Saber series are called 'PICO FUSE' and are readily available through parts houses.
They are sold in packs of five if I recall, in a small flip type flat package...about 3" long.
The proper value will be 4 Amps.
