ASTRO XTS3000 TX LED question

Post by phillipsc84 »

Does anyone know if the TX/RX LED on top is supposed to light up when the radio is RXing traffic on a trunked talkgroup? I know it does for conventional. And is it ONLY green when you turn the radio on and it's going through the self test?

Red= Transmitting
Blinking Red= Channel Busy or Low Battery ( while transmitting )
Double Blinking Red= Receipt of encrypted audio
Blinking Green= Receipt of Individual Call

It will be steady green on TX if you are using a T1 (type 1) algo in the radio.

So let's all confuse the poor guy with a bunch of ******** he didn't ask about. If he was running Type 1, he most likely wouldn't be asking questions on here, nor would he admit to even having Type 1 in the first place.

To the OP: Assuming you're doing simple trunking, no, the green light doesn't flash when receiving trunking audio. If you are running encryption, you should get a double-flash red.

So if it continues to flash red and beep...It's on a countdown to self destruction and you have 10 seconds to drop the radio and run like hell....LOL..Sorry had to post a funny....LMAO 8)

The led wont light at all on RX on a trunked system - Only conventional will it light on RX.

The only LED activity you will get is if you TX it will be steady red and if the battery is low it will slowly flash red.
AES AND DES ARE NOT CCI's - YOU CAN EXPORT THEM IF YOU WANT - Wassenaar Arrangement

There's no technical reason why it shouldn't. A Motorola software limitation, perhaps, but that's all.

Preciesely what it is.

Come on syntrx, a 5th grader could work that one out.

Theres one glaring fault in this thread that no one seems to have noticed yet.... XTS3ks dont do Type I at all. Thats one of the reasons the XTS3500 was developed.

Thank you to all for the replies... and believe me, its NOT type 1... Type 2 all the way. Hey here's another one for anyone who can answer it... When you press the phone button and then see "PLEASE WAIT" then get "NO PHONE" anyopne know if thats just indicative of that particular radio ID not being allowed phone capabilities or would it more likely be that there is no phone interconnect for that system? To my knowledge the system should have interconnect... It did at one point.
