HT50 6-channel thinks it's a 2-channel

Post by bcooper »

I tried reprogramming an HT50 6-channel and the RSS reports it as a 2-channel. It is definately a 6-channel radio as it has the original labels on it. I'm guessing someone put a 2-channel codeplug into it. I have a 6-channel codeplug from a P100. Can I use this to convert this back to a 6-channel? Is the HT50 limited to two PL's like the P100?

More like a 2 channel controller board if that's what you mean by codeplug. No converting necessary. The HT50 and P100 are the same internally, just Motorola's direct sales version (in the old days) and the Radius version the MSS's sold. Programming works the same, i.e. only 2 different PL codes available. Saw many of the calico versions, cases and batteries swapped around to keep the things going. Still lots of parts available for these.

I have seem this happen to radios that would glitch while in use. Just reprogram as a six channel.
