Is 800MHz XTS3000 a 700/800 radio ????

Post by Leadenwah »

On a popular auction site I saw an offering for an 800MHz XTS-3000 ( H09UCH9PW7BN ) which says that it is a " 700 / 800 MHz " radio.

Is this possible ? If so, I'd better take a closer look at mine before selling it.

Only does the 800meg side of the band.

The Astro25 portables (ala xts5000) will do the 700/800 band.

Thanks. That confirms what I thought.

The XTS-2500 and 5000 have the 700/800 bands.

Sure! You'll still find NTSC and DTV Television signals there until 2009...

Oh, that's not what you meant, is it? 8)

Sure, as mentioned, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, and other spots...some are commercial trunking (Texas) leasing spectrum from a few of the band holders. It can be used in spots where TV broadcasters are not occupying the band. Oh...Las Vegas too on their wiz bang OpenSky system (in testing/under constructon).

Look for use in the band growing where they can put it.

Harris County/STARNET (Texas) is rolling it out right now. They have 4 or 5 sites up.

Louisiana's statewide LATIE system uses it too. In fact, most -if not all- of metro New Orleans public safety is now on 700/800.
