ID Alias feature for XTS5000

Post by ladderco »

I cant figure out if the astro 8.0 software for XTS5000 has a id alias feature like the mts2000 do, we have 800mhz smartnet option and i figured if the mts had that feature that these new radios would to, does anyone know where it is in the software or even if it can be done

The radio must be equipped with option H14 Enhanced Digital ID display. It works with conventional MDC signaling, IMBE channels on 3600 systems, and with Astro25 systems.

In the CPS go to Radio Configuration > Display and Menu

There is a check box to activate ID display.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but does this enable the SoftID feature?

I believe SoftId comes with an Astro25 radio past a certain firmware revision (No idea what rev) I have a firmware 8 XTS2500I and it doesn't have Q352 softID flashed however I have soft ID as a feature.

Option on the Sabers/XTS3k/3500/Spectra's and early ASTRO25 radios. Pretty much standard now on the ASTRO25 radios or with a firmware upgrade with at least v8 I believe (just like MDC was an option, but contained in the newer firmware).

similar issue with XTS3000's, I have a VHF and UHF, both with fairly late f/w (8.xxx) and both support MDC encode and decode, however I cannot get the call list aliasing to work. In other words both XTS3000's WILL decode and display the transmitted MDC ID, but they won't show the call list alias like my MTS2000's do. Is this also an option?

XTS3k does not support alias id display. It will just decode and display the raw ID if equipped with digital id display.
