XTL 1500 scan issue
Have a sheriff dept in the area that when the XTL 1500 is out into scan and they go to talke on the selcted channell the radio shuts it self off. Wew rechecked the power and ground for the radio and all tested out good. any suggestions????
Re: XTL 1500 scan issue
I would ask how old these radios are and what control head they have.
In the mean time leave them off of scan.
Contact Motorola tech services and let them start a trouble ticket.

Re: XTL 1500 scan issue
they are about four months old and the control is not remote but the regular XTL 1500 control head.
Re: XTL 1500 scan issue
The XTL1500 has only ever had 1 type of control head available, and is a dash mount only radio.
Early versions of these had known scan issues, as well as no priority scan. I have a few that the scan works fine on, but, there is no priority scan.
Current host/dsp takes care of this, and allows priority scan in trunking, not sure about conventional. Hopefully though.

Re: XTL 1500 scan issue
Have you purchased a remote mount XTL1500? In what band?
I suppose there are different power levels, if you consider the different bands of operation.
VHF 10-40W
UHF 10-45W
700/800 10-35W
Thats all there is, gone are the days of having a low power only radio.
My catalog sheets say dash only. Do you have a new version?
Tks
