MTS2000 Maximum Power Input

Post by gatekeep »

What is the MAXIMUM voltage that can be applied at the battery contacts? Cuz I have a charger that seems to put out almost 9 or 10v into the radio... radio works and functions fine, but I was wondering if 12v or more were applied would it destroy the radio?

Forgot to ask, but does anyone know the current draw of the MTS2000 while idle and while transmitting?

Good question here.....

Actually, it's all dependant on the component tolerances and how stable the external power source is, to be honest.

But in my personal opinion, I would NOT run anything close to 12 volts to the radio....ESPECIALLY if the power source isn't almost 100 % clean and stable!

Just my penny valued opinion....

Be careful, whatever you decide to do, but it is YOUR radio and money.
