CDM Series RSSI Pin

Post by rdunajewsk »

Does anyone have detailed information on the RSSI pin on the CDM mobiles? I would think this is an output, probably a voltage that is proportional to the strength of the received signal. The model-specific page for the CDM series lists this as an input, but I believe it's an output. Correct me if I'm wrong there.

I'm looking for as much information as possible before I spend the money on another CDM.

I was planning on making a simple voting receiver by using RSSI from 2 CDM radios instead of the audio signal-to-noise ratio. I realize that a higher signal strength doesn't always indicate a more intelligible signal, but that's not important here. I figured I could just compare the two voltages to select which receiver I want.

Thanks!
