OT: BC785D Programming Software, Which do you like?

Post by kb0nly »

Its a bit off topic but i know there is a lot of guys on here with digital scanners, i'm acquiring a BC785D and i was wondering what options i have for computer programming of it. I have always used Win97 for my Pro-2055 and that works great, simple and easy to use.

So just looking for opinions on what i should use for the new scanner!

Thanks... 8)

I didn't own the 785 before but I had BC250D for about a year and half. I like the Butel software for easiness and the general look and feel of it.

second OT vote for butel. I have a 785D, and ended up picking up the Butel suite for it. It's relatively easy to do, and the onscreen display of the scanner when in remote mode is rather interesting, not my choice...but it works.

Sounds interesting.

I see they have a ARC250 and ARC250 Pro versions but it doesn't really explain the differences between them. Looks like i can download a demo version to play around with it before buying.

I also found this software doing some google searching, anyone familiar with this?

Here's a page that will explain their differences.

To me, unless you spend a lot of time listening to a scanner from a computer (aka computer control). I would stick with the standard version.

I would leave it off on that before it goes really OT! 8)

Is there any good free applications for programming this scanner? I doubt it, but just thought i might as well ask!

Awesome, thanks for the link to the version comparison.

Yeah the Basic version is fine for me, i won't be using the computer to control it and such, just to program. I hate spending a couple hours tapping buttons to program a scanner.
