I need eight Astros flashed to support 12.5 KHz channels.

Post by Elroy Jetson »

I have a customer that needs eight Astro Sabers (800 MHz) flashed to support 12.5 KHz channel spacing.

I thought all Astro Sabers could do this???

His radio shop assures me that these radios won't do 12.5 KHz spacing as they are now.

Which is the truth? And if the customer is right, who can do this flash upgrade? PM me if you can, with details.

IF this is true I could only assume at this time that the host is very old in them and needs to be upgraded. If they are 512K models that could be a problem.

I bought some of those Ebay us gov as1's that hit the market over the last year, it had host 3.X and was a vselp radio, both had 1 meg vocons, but with that old of host, they would not do 6.25 step channels until the firmware was uplifted, now they do it just fine.
