Thanks

Hello :
Im going to take stab at the answer on this one.
A S record is the same as archiving a code plug read say for example a GP300 portable.
If in fact this is a true statement as i understand a S recod and a Code plug reading being one and the same then the following is corect info.
Yes a S record or archived reading of any radio is band specific.
you cant normaly put a VHF saved reading into a UHF radio as an example because the settings for the internal bds are not the same and will corupt the code plug.
Now the exception would be if you are staying within the band limit but attempting to add features such as extra channels or scan if your radio has the memory for it.
But as an added precaution do not attempt to do this with the newer radios as as i understand it they are tool proofed and you will brick the radio.
If you are going to try to do somthing to this effect id strongly suggest you post the info on your radios model number and the model number your going to try so the better experts than myself can advise you before doing a really regretable mistake before you do it.
I would strongly recomend reading your radio as it is now and saving that reading before doing anything first as it may be your ace up the sleeve to return the radio properly to what it was before ruining it if it should ruin it.
What is the model number of your radio in qestion and its type = HT750 ect ?

An Srec is the band of what ever radio it was taken from.. It is a packed, raw binary form of the radio it was taken from.. With the correct tools, you can force any band srec into any radio... Just make sure your internal hardware is correct first.

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.
