HT1550xls+ analog scrambling Q

Post by JRUTA »

Merry Christmas to all, supposedly there is an accessory port inside the HT1550? (true?) if so, is there a plug-in scrambling board available to fit said port? (if such port exists) I'm aware of Midians and Trancrypt, however they seem to need the controller replaced to accomplish their use. any other products that take advantage of this "port"? Thanks, and a safe, merry christmas to all (and to all a good nite!!) -John

transcrypt just plugs right in and you can even program a button to turn it off and on. but expensive

i have personally used midians boards on their 1250ls. thier board replaced the front controller circut board (the board all the keypad buttons press). it could be programmed to turn onn or off thru a button on the side of the radio. you would also need to have the radio programmed to toggle option board on or off.
also, if you can spring for it, go for the rolling code, its higher security. anyone with a cheap inversion scrambler decoder can decode plain inversion. some commercial radios come equipt with an inversion board and selection for the 16 common inversion mixing freqs.

i ran the rolling code on my ht1250LS radios and it proved to work well with good signal, if the signal was weak it was sometimes hard to hear, but i dont thing thats a rolling code issue in its self.
