Li-ion XTS2500 Batteries? Slim line?

Post by DES-AJ »

Hi all,

So far I can only find these Motorola batteries for the XTS2500...

NNTN6263 NIMH FM IMMERSIBLE IMPRES BATTERY
NTN9857 Prem Batt NiMH 1800 mAh 7.5V IS
NTN9816 Prem Batt NiCD 1525 mAh 7.5V IS
NTN9858 Prem Batt NiMH 1800 mAh
NTN9815 Prem Batt NiCD 1525 mAh

Anyone heard of a Li-ion battery that motorola make for the 2500 or know if any of the above batteries are slim?

Any details would be appreciated.

No Li-Ion batteries available specifically for the 2500 right now, though you could possibly use a Waris battery. I sold a 2500 battery to a guy with an HT750 and other than the radio + battery not fitting in the charger (had to do battery only) it worked fine for him

Very true, but at least it's Li-Ion. Lighter than the alternatives, and 2500mAh.

That's coming out along with the single-position impres charger with display, right?

Laugh it up, I have some pre-production demos on the way from Motorola for display kits that use the 4-wire jack on the single unit pro-series chargers and so-called impres vehicular units 8) No guarantee on production but I'm sure the feedback will be glowing

If you're real nice you may get to check it out for a couple months and tell them your thoughts

Got them today, they are about the same size as the HNN9008 Battery for a Waris Series portable.

2700 mah battery, but as always came up to 2962 mah on first charge.

See the other thread regarding this issue, Including photos of the waris battery being used on the XTS-2500 (HNN9013) non-impres, but the smallest Li-ion battery available currently. Yes you have to charge it separately as it will not fit in the impres charger on the radio.

The new "slim" Li-ion battery just released (NNTN7335A) is definitely lighter than the current battery but it is the exact same size as the Nimh, including the hump! We ordered one just to be sure, it arrived yesterday and it is the same fat size as the old ones!

Unbelievable!

Just once I wish Motorola would listen to the end users.

got my NNTN7335A, while my belt doesn't droop as much as with my 9857 batt, im still quite dissapointed.. my question, and reason for re-opeining this topic... Why doesn't the HNN9013DR battery have issues fitting into the IMPRES 2500 charger, is it a minute design issue that could be fixed with a router, or is it a technical/electrical issue which prevents the charging?

the price on the HNN9013DR is about $50 ish... and i would be willing to spring on one to try to figure out, if it were a case issue (modded battery), but if it were a contact mis-alignment, or something i don't quite understand it wouldn't work much...

Libuff,

See this alternate thread. It answers your questions including how to modify the battery to fit in the charger. It also has pictures of the 9013 battery.
