XTS3000 scanning problem

Post by firefighter2000 »

Having trouble getting my XTS3000 (M1) to scan or enter scan program.

I have the top toggle programmed like this:

A-Scan prgm
B-Talk around/direct
C-Scan

Have the side buttons set up like this:

Top-Nuisance delet
Middle-Light
Bottom-Monitor

Any ideas?
thanks

The way you have it set up is somewhat unusual, I hope it works for you. You have scan and scan program, typially the other position is "blank" so to be able to have the radio not be in scan mode, or program mode... but none of that should affect it.

You need to have a scan list made up first, then associate it with every channel in the radio you want to be able to scan from. Then you have to program the scan list, pref. via CPS/RSS... I don't know if there's an indicator for adding/deleting channels on the model 1 XTS radios, but I may be wrong.

With the things above set up, the radio should scan. It simply sounds to me that you either don't have a scan list set up, or you don't have a list associated with a channel.
