JT1000 narrowband capabilities

Post by N9LLO »

I tried to enter 152.4575 with band switched to narrow, ERROR !
153.0125 worked though.
Can anyone take some time to explain to me what the problem is?

That can't work...

Closest you can come to 152.4575 in a radio with 12.5khz channel steps is 152.4500 (7.5khz too low) or 152.4625 (5khz too high). You would need a radio that does 2.5khz steps for 152.4575. Jedis are not capable of 2.5khz steps.

153.0125 worked because it is 12.5khz above 153.000.

For example, you can create up to 80 channels between 153.000 and 154.000mhz with 12.5khz channel spacing. Starting at 153.000mhz, add 12.5khz and that = 153.0125. Add another 12.5khz to that and you get 153.0250, and on and on and on...

You can create up to 400 channels between the same bandwidth with 2.5khz spacing. Example: 152.000mhz plus 2.5khz = 152.0025. Add another 2.5khz and you get 152.0050 and so on (including your 152.4575 freq.).
