Re: XTS-2500 III UHF FPP Scan Issues
Check in the scan configuration -- you want too look at priority channel marking, and carrier detect - something along those lines in the CPS, and that will fix the problem.
I would choose help on both check boxes and then make the decision based on the help file which best suits your needs.

Carrier Detect Required: Enables the radio to land on carrier squelch but to only unmute on Priority - Scan List Members or on a proper Private Line (PL) code detect. This applies while actively scanning a Conventional dispatch scan list member channel, while in scan mode.
this is currently enabled... should it be disabled? it was enabled, i am try by disabling it...

Turn on priority channel marking too - I think the combination makes it work...libuff wrote:Carrier Detect Required: Enables the radio to land on carrier squelch but to only unmute on Priority - Scan List Members or on a proper Private Line (PL) code detect. I usually have to goof with the settings a bit myself - as I do the "set and forget" method sometimes of programming....

Was this ever resolved? I am having the same issue. I have carrier detect unchecked and priority channel marking checked. Firmware: R09.00.05

It's not just the 2500, but I noticed the 5000 also suffers from this same issue.

Re: XTS-2500 III UHF FPP Scan Issues
It looks to me as if checking EITHER box makes scanning a special function
as opposed to "straight" scanning. My setups for my 5K radios has NEITHER
box checked and the scan follows the PL/DPL/CSQ scan program just fine.

Re: XTS-2500 III UHF FPP Scan Issues
I have tried checking both carrier detect and priority channel marking, unchecking both, checking one and not the other...no luck. This radio will only unmute when in scan.
This appears to be a major issue.

Re: XTS-2500 III UHF FPP Scan Issues
Go into your Conventional personality RX options tab, and look at the unmute type...
From the help menu:
-Std Unmuting, Std Muting: To unmute on Proper Private Line (PL) code detection, and to mute on loss of proper PL code.
-And Unmuting, Std Muting: To unmute on Proper PL code detection And Carrier Squelch detect, and to mute on loss of proper PL code.
-And Unmuting, Or Muting: To unmute on Proper PL code detection And Carrier Squelch detect, and to mute on loss of proper PL code Or loss of Carrier Squelch detect.
Try setting it up for the first selection (Std Unmuting, Std Muting) and see if the problem goes away..

Stupidity creates job security!
If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..
CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Re: XTS-2500 III UHF FPP Scan Issues
OK i chose Standard unmute/mute (1st option)...I also unchecked Priority Channel marking and Carrier detect...no luck. The only way I can listen to a channel is to either be in scan or monitor mode.

So what was the problem, so the rest of us (and the archives) know...
If you'd prefer not to provide the specifics, how about at least the general outline?

Re: XTS-2500 III UHF FPP Scan Issues
I am obliged to use "Channel Marking" as I often an close enough to the Fire F1 Quantar that my radio will pick up the idle but active exciter. Have had no problems decoding PL/DPL on scan.Tom in D.C. wrote:It looks to me as if checking EITHER box makes scanning a special function
