Marartac logic board problem

Post by shartman »

Hello,
We have our own comm. dept. & maintain our own fleet. Have a couple 48Mhz 100w (we have AK & BK versions) Maratracs with seemingly inoperative logic boards. Symptoms are--pwr. supply voltages are present & ok, unresponsive when turned on (clamshell heads), no beeps, control head lights come on, no ptt action or light, can't read radio program--says serial bus error, pin 5 of P6 @ 4Vdc indicating "out of lock", have verified the 7.776 Mhz osc. is running. I have swapped out the logic board from a working radio & that fixes these. Any known fixes for this short of replacing the logic board with a new one?

Appriciate any tips,

Steve

I don't know if it's the same problem but with a fleet of about 60 UHF radios we had a problem with the UV E-Prom becoming corrupted. Don't know how or why but after replacing the E-Prom the radio would work fine
