CDR repeater- power on/off

Post by Equinox »

How do you set the new CDR repeaters to come on automatically when power is applied? I know about setting up CDM mobiles with the ignition wire, but how do you do that when the accessory plugs are taken up by the RICK cables? Can you tap into the appropriate wire on the RICK cable?

Check and see if there is a wire in pin 10 of the rick cable, also check if it has 12vdc on it, if it does check the programming of the cdm's and make sure ign switch is set to soft power off. If you don't have 12 vdc on the acc wire, there may be a 3rd port on the rick marked acc, you might be able to install an ign wire there, to feed the others.

I think there is a wire in Pin 10, but that is a good idea about the acc. plug on the RICK. I'll poke around on it tomorrow.

I always just add an external pin 10 wire to both radios accessory jack and tie them to the power leads.

I am pretty sure that when power is applied to pin 10 of the accessory jack on the Rick controller it will turn on the receive radio. The Transmit radio will get turned on when the setup button is pushed on the Rick controller.
