When I go to PAGE > MY ID on an XTS5000, instead of showing 1459 (which is the ID on that personality), it displays 05B3, the hex equivalent of my ID.
Is there an option for this? If there is, I didn't see it.
This is a Host/DSP 11 radio, last wrote with CPS 11.
XTS5000 displaying MDC HEX??

Re: XTS5000 displaying MDC HEX??
If "Page > My ID" shows 05B3, then that is the ID that was programmed into the radio.
I suspect what happened is that the manager of your system created an ID scheme using decimal values, of which there are 47,249 possible values valid for MDC (not all consecutive) or 65,535 for SmartNet. The plan was probably to use these IDs as verbal call signs, but they are converted into hexadecimal numbers for radio programming. Most likely your dispatch uses a decoder that either converts the hex IDs back to decimal or employs an alias list.
Note that if you want all number IDs (simulating decimal in a hex format) to show directly, you are limited to 9,999 possible values. If you use hex IDs, there are, as I said, 47,249 or 65,535 values, depending on system.

Re: XTS5000 displaying MDC HEX??
Negative, when I TX on that personality, 1459 displays on another radio. Tested with HT1250, Astro Spectra, and another Astro Saber (all simplex, direct)
However, when it's being converted to hex, it's being done IN the radio, without my instruction to do so. I'm just curious as to why; I've never seen this before. I'm the one who programmed the radio, and when I did up the MDC Personalities, I know for sure that 1459 was what I entered, and that 05B3 Hex equv. is what it transfers this to, on it's own.

Re: XTS5000 displaying MDC HEX??
MDC ID values are entered in XTS portables as hex numbers. Thus, if you entered an ID value of 1459, this is interpreted as 1459h, the decimal equivalent of which is 5029. I have never heard of an XTS converting a hex number into a further hex number, nor have I ever seen any of the couple of hundred of XTS portables I've programmed do that. So I have no explanation.
