Trying to read the codeplug from a CDM1550 LS+ Radio...
Model: AAM25SHF9DP6AN
VER.NO: R05.05.15
CPS Version: R06.04.00
The CPS Reads the data for about fifteen seconds... Loads the "CPS Splash screen" then drops a succession of error boxes up, and reverts back to the "unopened code plug" window, how it initially opens up.
The error boxes are as follows, in order:
"Professional Radio CPS"
"Value not in List"
"Error Unpacking CnvPer Squelch Code. Aborting Unpack."
"Transformation unpackSqCode from CpDbToDb failed for block Conventional Personality.
Problem with the return value"
"PassII- Unable to transfer block Conventional Personality from CpDb to Db"
And kicks back.
Any ideas what is going on here? The software, and hardware (both a standard issue motorola RIB, and a cheepo chinese "ribless") all work with other CDM 1500's that I've worked on, and also other CDM's... both LTR and Conventional.

• Have you tried re-installing your CPS software?
• Will another computer read the radio?
• The codeplug you are trying to read from the radio quite possibly could be corrupted. Have you tried uploading a different codeplug to the radio to see if it will accept it (uploading a new codeplug to the radio will erase the one that is currently on it)
Cheers and best of luck,
Parker

From what you tell me here, it sounds like that the codeplug you are trying to read quite possibly could be corrupted, and in order to get the radio back in service you may need to start from scratch by uploading a new codeplug to the radio to erase the current one that is on it which you appear to be having problems with and reprogramming it. It may not be the path you want to take, but the paths you want to use may have roadblocks.Any ideas what is going on here? Thanks for responding...
Reinstalled CPS, no change...
No other computer will read it either...
Looks like I've gotta find another codeplug. Thanks!
Aint no problem with that, just gotta find one. Pre'ciate it.

Did this radio just get back from repair, or possibly have had it's firmware upgraded to the latest? If so, it likely needs the latest CPS, 6.09.something...before you can read it.

Very well could be possible... :-\
Trying to bring back a radio that was donated to our department by a retired member. T'was his personal radio, that he had purchased and programmed himself
Unfortunetly, there's no chance of getting another version of the CPS to program this with.
Though I thought that you could still *read* with an older CPS, just that you could not *write* with it?
Hmm.. Thanks!

i'm 99% positive that 5.06.06 firmware is the cutoff and you will need cps 6.09.06 to read it. in your case you can't read it to find out the firmware version withoug having the newest cps so you're in a catch 22 unless you have access to the new cps. i know when i update firmware i update the sticker with the new version number.

If the codeplug was corrupted, then the radio would not boot and generate an error on the screen. i.e. cs error or some fail code Fail 01/82.
When a HT1250 is turned on and boots, it reads the entire codeplug from the radios eeprom. Even if one single Bit gets corrupted, the radio fails to boot.
HLA is correct, you need the latest CPS to read the radio. You can obtain the radios firmware version by going into the radios menu (if enabled), you can bring up the firmware version from there. The firmware revision from the menu (must be enabled via CPS under: Menu Items ---> Utilities Sub Menu).
