consolette question

Post by nytech »

How do I put a consolette into service mode (MC3000 remote deskset in use) to view Host/DSP/Secure versions, etc?

I don't know if I ever tried it...you've tried pressing the "home" button 5 times, I assume?

Bumping this old thread...

I've got an XTL5000 W9 consolette with the MC3000 that I'm trying to get into the service menu. Pressing the Home button on the deskset 5 times after the radio powers up doesn't seem to work... The Home button is programmed on the control head in the normal spot, so I don't know what else to try.

I am also getting Error 05/10 on power up, which is some kind of control head error. Even with the error, the radio and deskset still seem to work fine. Not sure if this has anything to do with not being able to get into the service menu.

Incidentally, an XTL5000 W7 consolette (with the front mounted W7 head) does go into the service menu when you press Home 5 times after power up.

Anyone have any ideas on other ways to find out what crypto algorithims are in the secure module in this W9 XTL5000 consolette?

Your W9, it has a W7 control head on the front of the box?

No control head no service mode, this is a local control only through the watchdog reset line that holds its command until all button depressions are clear for 5 seconds after initializing the power on command.

DGT9000 desksets can imulate a home button request through the local logic, but MC3000's cannot. The algo's can also be seen once a proper display is connected to the bus line.

Need an orange for your orange as far as I know.

CoM
If the lights are out when you leave the station and then come on the second you key up, you know you have enough power.
