tool-proof MTS2000 questions

Post by vr2usp »

I've got a MTS2000(UHF) on my hand, and it had been tool-proof(The display show F01/93 when it turn on)
And I don't have the work s-record before it become tool-proof but I have the codeplug.
So, as I looking in the infomations here, I would like to know the following...

1. Is it possable to make a tool-proof MTS2000 work again without taking it to Motorola?
2. Is it work if I replace a controller board?
3. Can I flash upgrade this become a higher firmware and make it without taking it to Motorola? If yes, where can I find the firmware?
4. Anyone have any idea to make it work?

Thanks!!!

Model Number: H01RDD9PW1BN
Firmware version: 5.44
Internal Hardware Version: 000A
Tracking Software Option: H35
Flashcode: 000001-000000-9

1. Not that I know of unless someone has the elusive "flasport depot tool" which are things we don't speak of, so I guess the answer is no.

2.yes it will work if you replace the controller board. Kinda pricey. You could always sub an MTX controller if you want to go cheap.

3.see number 1.

4.you have a basic UHF top display MTS. My advice, grab another one the UHF Range 1 MTS2000's are a dime a dozen these days. Keep your toolproofed one around for parts.
