A9 Spectras: More than 128 modes possible?

Post by kc7gr »

Fellow batwingers,

In the world of analog Spectras, specifically the A9's: Was there ever, at any time, a non-Astro model created that could handle more than 128 modes?

Alternatively -- Has anyone ever figured out a mod to do this?

Curious... Thanks much.

I havn't tried it yet, but if you BitBang the radio into a Trunked version, it has a capability of 250 modes. Not sure what to do after making it a trunked one , Probably you have to bitbang the Spectra MDF to have 250 convetional modes and 0 trunked. That I have done with the 900 mhz Spectra.
