CDM1550 ROM CS ERROR

Post by Bill Rogen »

I have a CDM1550 that is starting to crap out with different symptoms like getting stuck in transmit even with mic removed, getting stuck on one channel with no controls working (have to remove power), giving open squelch noise with no controls working, and occasionally showing a ROM CS ERROR. I tried reprogramming with an older less dense code plug but no help. These problems only start during transmit. Has anyone dealt with this before? Thanks for any ideas, Bill.

What is the radio's firmware version? Sounds like you have an older CDM and the firmware has never been updated because symptoms similar to what you're describing have been noted with older versions of the CDM firmware. One other possibility is an intermittant high resistance in the A+ or ground power lines to the radio.

You are right! The firmware is R02.00.02 ! Maybe I can find someone to update it before it dies completely. Thanks Al.

Hey Al. Looks like you nailed it. I had it flashed and so far it looks like it is back to normal. Thanks for the advice, Bill.
