Another MW-520 question

Does anyone know what the "IDB" connector above the USB port on a MW-520 # F5205A is used for??

As I understand it, the IDB port is an ITS-CAN Bus interface... I don't know if anything was ever developed for it, but I believe the idea was that you could interface CAN Bus equipped vehicles to the MW520, perhaps for the purposes of vehicle monitoring (speed/tach/etc), or vehicle control via the MW520. That's all I know.
