Is it worth getting an OEM Moto antenna for my XTS5000? I've got a UHF whip but I'm looking for a stubby; fleabay's got aftermarket ones but I question their quality and would rather not damage my radio for a $7.99 antenna. Same question for a ribless programming cable.
Thanks!

If that was my $4,000 radio, I'd definitely want to spend at least another $12 on an OEM antenna !!
In all seriousness though, yes OEM is simply the best you can get. Almost all other "Aftermarket" antennas are simply not as durable as a Motorola antenna.

Agreed with you there. Where's my "best bet" online for OEM antennas? Looking for a stubby UHF (the helical type).MT2000 man wrote:If that was my $4,000 radio, I'd definitely want to spend at least another $12 on an OEM antenna !!

If you want to purchase an OEM antenna online, then I highly suggest looking no further than right here at Batlabs
Contact Escomm (if you go into the For Sale Forum, he has a Sticky there) via. PM, and ask him. he sells new OEM products, and is great to deal with. Much better then going to your local, or other online Motorola store IMO.
Good luck, and I'm Sure he will have what you're looking for !
