Howdy all,
I've run into an issue with some XTL-5000's that have O5 heads attached. With a codeplug that has been provided to me, I am not able to xmit to a non XTL-5000 with a W9 head on one particular frequency. There is a terrible noise that comes through on that frequency on the XTL with a W9 head. However, the xmtn comes through 5x5 on another XTL w/ an O5 head. It is only on that one particular frequency, Maritime 21A. If I change channels and xmt on Mar 22A, there is no issue at all and it performs just as it should.
Has anyone else come across a problem like this before? I'm stuck.
Thanks...

Find a service monitor and see what the radio is doing. From your description, I can not determine anything. it might
be something as simple as the radio was programmed wrong. Might be another thing where the transmitter has a
problem and is oscillating on the specific channel. Look at the transmitter with a spectrum monitor to see if by
some chance it is generating spurs.

Re: XTL-5000 Weirdness
Shortly after I sent this out, I found out that new codeplug had been released by the program manager and this should take care of the problem. I should have looked at the codeplug myself, but it's very expansive and a lot of fun to look at.
