Need QCII help on an XTS5000

Post by w2sjw »

Guys,

I used to know how to do QCII on the Jedi's, but the XTS's have got me stumped. I don't want to send it, just have my portable alert on the tones. I took some quick screen-caps of my CPS settings, and I still can't get the radio to behave. What am I missing?

Just a brief clarification - I want to monitor traffic on the channel at all times. I just want the radio to alert when those 6 listed stations get dispatched...

I believe the QC Call List is only for outgoing QC signaling. For inbound, you have to define a tone sequence for each QC "System", and a given channel can monitor only one system at a time.

RKG is right. The quick call list is mainly used for alerting specific radios, but only to tx the tones. To receive tones you need to create a QC system for each tone and assign each system to a personality (under the signaling tab). Then assign the personality to a separate channel.

Ahh, so I got it backwards. I saw the QCII 'System' tab with the mention of 'side tone' & 'short side-tone' & thought that was for QCII TX operation only.

Don't feel bad that is exactly what I interpreted it as initially. They don't exactly make it clear.
