T-band; Not Trivial Pursuit

Post by PRR »

Despite a misconstrued inclusion of humor, the inquiry regarding the authorization date of T-band, with a relevant cite(s) to the FCC website (NPRM's or R&O's not simply the Part 90 regulation) was - and is - completely serious. I've tried a myriad of search terms and phrases on Google with no success.

So, if you know, or could provide a lead in a fruitful direction, I'd certainly appreciate any info. Let's keep it on track please; TVSJR is busy enough.

Unfortunately I can't provide an exact date for you. As you likely already know, 47 CFR 90.301-315 defines where the channels can be used the the requirements to get a license on those channels. 90.301 shows a creation date of 22 November 1978, with amendments 17 April 1997.

This report states that the sharing agreement was reached in 1970.

Maybe that will point you in the right direction?

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

the NYPD has been on UHF T-band since the early 1970's IIRC. LAPD moved to UHF T-band in 1981 from VHF. Those two agencies are still using UHF T-band to this day with LAPD being digital now since the early part of the decade.
The views here are my own and do not represent those of anyone else or the company, the boss, his wife, his dog or distant relatives.

Thank you. This is quite sufficient for my purposes, especially the 2001 FCC report.

I actually completely forgot the date references at the bottom of each reg section - That was dumb on my part.
