Help!
I have 10 zones of 16 channels programmed into the radio. On personality 1, zone 1, I have a scan list that works fine, on personality 1, zone 1 only. I then set up a 2nd scan list for zone 2, a 3rd for zone 3, 4th for zone 4, etc, etc. I set the scan lists up with the same settings as scan list 1 on personality 1, but with channels from that zone only. The radio will not scan on any other zone except for zone 1.
The radio appears to have given each zone its own personality, which is fine as I went into the personality and selected the scan list for that personality. The scan button does not activate the function in any personality or zone except for 1. I know I am doing something wrong I just cannot figure out what it is. Since I was able to make the first scan list to work without any problem, it is all the more confusing.
I have the latest version of CPS and firmware (10.0)
Thanks

Re: XTS2500 VHF Model III FPP Scan List Problem
You need to go through and make sure within that zone that each personality assigned to that channel share the same scan list setting. So, if your in zone1, you must adjust personalities 1-16 to have the same scan list... Zone 2 would be 17-32 would be the next scan list, etc.
It should then work.

Re: XTS2500 VHF Model III FPP Scan List Problem
Alex,
I beilieve I have done that. In each personality, the scan tab allows you to pick which scan list you want associated with that personality. I have chosen the proper scan list, but it will not work. All of the other scan related settings are exactly the same as personality #1. I have personality 2-15 set up the same as #1, but only #1 will scan. I should add that due to my radio being FPP with both Q52 and 53, it assigns each channel it's own personality. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Re: XTS2500 VHF Model III FPP Scan List Problem
One thing isn't clear from what you've said so far. For the 160 channels
you have set up in the 10 zones, do you have 160 separate personalities
set up? My two XTS5Ks (Q52/Q53) are set up that way with about five
scan lists and each channel that IS on a scan list is only on the one list and
used one time.

Re: XTS2500 VHF Model III FPP Scan List Problem
Each zone on the XTS5K has it's own personality list (aka channels in that zone). Each personality on the XTS5K has it's own scan list number. Each scan list has it's own scan list members (channels in that list).
So say I'm on channel A. It's assigned Scan list #1 from the scan tab on the conventional personality window. So now I go to "scan list - 1" under the Scan List branch of the Scan tree. I click the List tab. Viola! There's all my scan list members!
What this means is that each channel (aka personality) can only have one scan list assigned to it. The scan list assigned to the personality is WHAT IT SCANS when you hit the scan button while on the personality. It is NOT WHAT SCAN LIST THE CHANNEL IS IN. (I'm not yelling, just highlighting a point, btw.)
To assign what scan lists channels are in you need to go to the "List" tab under the relevant scan list number, which is contained under the "Scan" branch.
I think you're confused about what the "Scan" tab is used for in the channel personality menu. Like I said, it tells the radio what scan list to scan when you have that channel selected on the radio display. So when I'm on channel A and enable scan, the radio will scan Scan list #1, which contains Channels B, C, D, E, F, G, H, and so on. But when I'm on channel B, I have the radio scan List #2, which contains channels I, J, K, L, M, N, and so on.
Confusing, but hope it helps.
