Use the Astro mobile CPS (or RSS) to do everything beside the control head. I don't have the P/N for that CPS. I do have it on a laptop, if needed I can check on it.

So your saying that Motorola has us having to aquire two seperate software versions and the programming is divided into two seperate areas, the backend (frequencies, pl's, and ect), and the front end (meaning control head display such as channel lables and ect)? Unlike how they had it setup with the Railroad Spectra where the one software version would program all areas in the radio. Am I understanding this correctly?

Doug,

You have it correct. The CC cps is "Astro CleanCab CPS R0100. It was a free download last time I looked.

Now that I think about it, I had a problem the last time I went to use the CC CPS, I could not get it to read the radio. I had no problem with the Astro mobile reading it though.

If you order the CD version of the detailed service manual (9985809F01), (list $23.63) they include a copy of the Astro Clean Cab CPS (R01.00) along with it. This programs specific features for the control head only.

Order the Astro Spectra CPS (RVN4183) to program the radio features (frequencies, squelch codes, etc).

It isn't hard to perform the programming but it is a lot more involved than using the old DOS based programming for the analog Spectra railroad radio.
