Question about XTS2500 800mhz

Post by motofan44705 »

I was looking to buy this system but I am not sure it is capable of handling what I need it to do here is the specs.

Motorola XTS2500 800MHz
Model H46UCF9PW6AN

Decoding Flashcode: 500008-00148C-5
Q806 ASTRO Digital Operation
H14 Enhanced Digital ID Display
H38 SMARTZONE Systems Operation
Q947 APCO Packet Data Interface
Q173 SMARTZONE OMNILINK Multizone Operation
Q361 ASTRO 25 9600 Baud Trunking
Q667 ADP Encryption Software DSP Based Only
Q574 9600 Baud Trunking
Decoded by akardam.net FC Decoder

What I need this Unit to do is Motorola Type II SmartZone and Motorola Type II SmartZone Omnilink my question is will this flash and radio give me this capability?

Thanks Jim

I think he would need the 3600 bps trunking option also, that is a 9600 bps trunking radio. The xts5k when it has 96 will do both, but the 2500 needs the second option.

Q883 3600/9600 Interoperability is what you need..

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

True. He didn't mention the SmartZone release, so if it's anything lower than 6X he'll need interoperability software like you said.

Yeah with the current flash in that 2500, and without the Q883 3600/9600 Interoperability in flashcode, the CPS won't let you select anything other than Astro25 as a trunking type in the trunking field..
