Technically speaking, you have not given enough information to answer the question.

It *used* to be that the APCO spec stated that the NAC was identically equal to the System ID. Full stop.

That got changed in 2005 such that the NAC was NOT guaranteed to be equal to the NAC. It was *recommended* that the upper 8 bits of the NAC be equal to the upper 8 bits of the System ID, and the lower 4 bits reserved for some form of "color code" to help out on co-channel interference. However, there really is not guaranteed way to determine those bits.

The spec says that what a radio is supposed to do in order to get the NAC is:
1) Locate a control channel with a compatible SysID, ignoring NAC for the moment.
2) when the control channel is accepted as valid, copy whatever NAC the CC is using and use that.
This is my opinion, not Aeroflex's.

I WILL NOT give you proprietary information. I make too much money to jeopardize my job.

I AM NOT the Service department: You want official info, manuals, service info, parts, calibration, etc., contact Aeroflex directly, please.

You can use software to decode a NAC. Believe the software is called "The kNACk" or something close. Used it many times with good results as long as there is a reasonable signal to lock onto.

I've heard people talk about the software called "The kNAC"... I've tried to do the Google thing but couldn't find it. Anyone can point me in the right direction or stuff?
