XTS 5000 can't use FPP function

Post by motorola-radio »

My xts 5000 vhf radio has FPP function show at the flashcode and read from CPS(R11.00.00), why I can't programme it to use the FPP function ? This radio fix to 15 zone and 240 conventional personality at "FPP/Protection", when I delete one zone or add one personality, the CPS can't let me write the new codeplug to the radio , now I only change old channel data to use , can not add or delete the new channel to use... why ? This radio's " MENU Items" can add the "FPP" and "CLON", the "FPP" can't show at radio's display, but "CLON" can show at radio's display and can use....why ?
other question is what program can make the voice file to be ".mvf file" for the channel Announcement... why the channel Announcement data can't save at the codeplug? it only read from the radio ...why?

Thanks !

To answer the FPP issues:

- You have version 9 or earlier firmware = You are forced with 240 personalities, 15 zones, 16 channels each.
- You see Q52 FPP, but you don't have Q53 also = You can only use version 9 or earlier CPS.
(Version 10 and higher won't allow FPP with Q52 only)

If you have programmed your radio with Ver11 CPS, you essentially just wiped FPP from your radio.
You can't go back to version 9 now.

Ain't that a b1tch...

I was tried to use the ASTRO 25 CPS A3.80.54 read that radio(the radio was write by CPS R11.00.00), it can read the radio success ,and the CPS was show it had Q53. Why use CPS R11 show it has Q52, use CPS A3.80.54 show it has Q53 ? If use the CPS A3.80.54 to write the radio, can it back to normal has the FPP function?

Sounds like you have an alpha version of CPS.

The rule of thumb is, once you have written a radio with a newer version, you can not go back to an earlier version.

If reflash the Q52 or Q53 to flashport , it can back to normal to use FPP ?

you need both Q52 and Q53 for fpp to work in CPS 10 or greater.
